Event Details

In a challenging economy (tough times), you have to examine your firm’s strategies and figure out which ones need changing. To do this well, you have to know how to escape the prison of institutional thinking and see things from a new perspective – to get outside the box.

To navigate today’s challenges and build a successful future, you have to access all firm knowledge and have a strategy to put all that knowledge to work for you. You have to think thoughts that might otherwise be taboo. The session touches on questions like:

  • What is the difference between a “strategy” and a “strategic plan?”
  • What is the value of a strategic and/or marketing plan?
  • What is the value of a good “Go/No Go” process?
  • What makes a “good” or a “strategic” client?
  • What is the importance of good access to institutional knowledge?
  • How do you develop new strategies?
  • How do you implement new strategies?
  • Where does the authority come from?

The session is designed to allow clarification questions during the presentation as well as a Q&A time at the end. It will help people understand how to use a range of available tools to identify needs, create strategies, develop implementation plans and put the strategies to work.

Every registration will receive a FREE copy of Bernie's brand new book, “Musings of a Mad Marketer”. This PDF book is a collection of almost 80 articles, book reviews and blog posts by Bernie Siben, CPSM. The pieces run from a half-page to 10 pages in length, with most running two to four pages, and all are somehow related to the marketing of architectural, engineering, environmental and related services. The book is organized with a chapter for each of SMPS’s six domains of practice (Marketing Research; Marketing Plan; Client and Business Development; SOQs/Proposals; Promotional Activity; and Information, Resource and Organizational Management), with an additional chapter for those pieces that didn’t seem to fit into a specific (or single) domain. *This publication is available exclusively with a paid registration for this webinar.
